Charleston Soap Company was established in June 2009, although its inspiration began about six years earlier. Growing up on a farm, my mother taught me the traditional process of making soap. This craft had been passed down by previous generations to her, and then to me. It took until the later part of my life to truly appreciate the craftsmanship behind the soap making process. Using the process my mother had taught me, I made my own soap, and gave it back to her as a gift. She truly appreciated the handmade gift, as did the others I gave it to. That began my devotion to soap. After years of soap-crafting being a hobby of mine, I decided to share my products with a wider audience. And that is how Charleston Soap Company came to life.
